The Magical Harkow posted a very nice and moving review of the book. You can read it here.

“The comic is the most accurate depiction of life growing up in a middle-class Chinese Singaporean background that I’ve ever seen.”

Thanks for the support!

Thanks for the support! We moved quite a number of copies of the book, as well as Hong Teng’s fantastic postcards and Sin Ann’s Cool Croc. We’re going to be distributing to bookstores this week, and hopefully another signing session shortly. The great thing about STGCC was talking to comic readers, artists, bloggers and others. Was great to get feedback, ideas and opportunities. And three lucky individuals also won an original page from the book, and we’ll be in touch with you about how to collect the prize.

At the barber

November 26, 2010 Leave a comment

One of my favourite sequences in the book, amongst many. It was based on a Malay barber that I went to; a huge, muscular guy with a delicate touch. He had all these muscle magazines in the waiting area, and a set of dumbbells beneath the waiting bench, which I bet he worked out on in between cutting hair to relieve the stress of cutting the hair of wailing kids.

The other good news is that the book is at the printers, and crossing our fingers that everything goes well so we can make it in time for STGCC.
